Types of Kiwis

There are more than 50 types of kiwi fruit. The most common variety is grocery store kiwifruit, also known as fuzzy kiwifruit. While most kiwis are green on the inside, there are some golden varieties as well. How to Pick Kiwi

Here’s how to select the best kiwi at the store:

  • Pick the plumpest one
  • Avoid any blemishes or wrinkles on the skin.
  • Check for firmness- If the kiwi is firm to the touch, then it is not ripe. If it yields to the touch, it’s ready and ripe. However, if it’s too soft, skip it. It’s too ripe and will tend to be too mushy.
  • Smell the kiwi for a fragrant, citrus smell.
